Frequently asked questions

What does a backup include?

Sheet data, attachments, comments, an Excel copy of each sheet, and a manifest listing what was captured. If the connected account can't read something, the run is marked partial, so check the manifest after each run.

Where are backups stored?

In your organization's Output storage, inside your own isolated environment in AWS in the United States. You can copy any file to a Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft Files folder you connect.

Can I restore from a backup?

We can restore saved values into new sheets. A restore doesn't recreate formulas, comments, attachments, reports, dashboards, or sharing settings, and it never overwrites your originals. Treat backups as a dependable record of your data rather than a one-click rollback.

Does it use AI?

No. Backups, maps, and the Health Monitor don't send your sheet data to an AI model.

Do I need Transform to use these tools?

No. Tools for Smartsheet is powered by Transform, but you don't need Transform to use it. If you later want Smartsheet connected to your CRM, ERP, or other systems, we can add it.
